I’m in New York! What a great place to spend my birthday!
I woke up at 7 am, I am attending a conference (NextGen) with Ruby and wanted to make sure we had enough time to grab some coffee on the way. Of course Starbucks is downstairs, right next door to the hotel and we’re only 2 blocks away from the Tribecca Performing Arts Center.
I had arranged to meet Ken Beasley who is from California but has moved to New York. He was one of the first authors I helped to get published. So I left the conference at 1 to meet up with Ken (back to Starbucks) and we had a great chance to catch up.
About 3 pm I realized Ruby had been frantically texting me for the past hour to tell me there was a live radio show at the convention and the host, Tony Martignetti was ready to interview me. So I rushed back, walked up to the mobile studio and eased into the half hour long conversation. It was fun and a great bonus for the day!
We ended up going to the evening mixer at Smyth’s which was across the street from our hotel for about an hour and then Karen (one of my authors from Sacramento), Ruby and I went over to Jr Sushi and had an amazing dinner. We went back to Smyth’s to have an after dinner drink and ran into a couple of people who were also at the conference and live in Hawaii.
What an amazing day and an amazing adventure! Life is great!
