Inspiration

Inspiration comes from many resources. I have a friend who has two daughters, one 15 who is going through the terrible teens!  I can’t imagine what it would be like to endure that era in this day and age!
She has an interest in modeling and fashion, so I asked if she would like to go with me and choose some materials to make some skirts. I have a favorite place, the San Jose Flea Market that is better than any fabric store I’ve ever found even the garment district in Los Angeles.
So we drove the 45 minutes to the Flea Market on the hottest day of the year, without a single complaint from her. She was amazingly engaging and fun to spend time with.
She definitely knew what she liked. She has a great eye for the colors that work for her complexion. She selected a yard of five different materials, she’s about a size “0”, so 36” was more than enough for a skirt, top and scarf!
So the next step is to spend the day with her and show her how to make a skirt without a pattern.
So the inspiration, I spend the day yesterday making two skirts and a jacket! It’s good for the soul and peace of mind!
